If you are struggling with drug addiction, alcohol, or process addictions and would like to speak with and/or meet with someone that has gone through the same situations and has made it through the process I would be more than happy to help you along your journey. more…
Do you have a family member or friend that is struggling with alcoholism, drug addiction, and/or mental health issues, and you need help speaking with them about it?
Are you frustrated that nothing that you have done so far in terms of trying to get them to recognize that they have a problem worked so far?
Are you preparing to set up some boundaries or consequences for their actions and not sure how to eat handle that?
Are you simply at your breaking point of what to do to help them because you love them so much?
These are just a few examples of a situation where an intervention would be useful. It is always best to try and get them individualized help before it is too late.
I have trained under one of the leading interventionists in the country and have been trained in and utilize the “Love in Action” model where we invite the addict or alcohol to be a part of the process and their own recovery.
I will typically meet with the family and friends multiple times (depending on the urgency of the situation) to go over what we want the process to look like and how we want to “confront” the individual. In our preparation meetings we will decide what the best course of treatment is for the individual based on the needs that he or she has and the financial resources. I know most of the treatment centers in the area and across the U.S., so we will be sure to get them into the safest environment for them.
I put the word confront in quotations because, unlike the TV show Intervention, as long as we plan everything correctly, there will not be any screaming and yelling. The whole process is about love and support and letting the individual know how much that we care about them.
I can work with men and women at any age, with any substance abuse issue and most mental health issues, in both Colorado and across the country.
All initial consultations are FREE of charge. I never want to feel like a family member or friend should have to pay me to get to know about what I do. Once we have decided on a course of further action we will discuss finances based on the location of the addicted person, where the intervention will take place, and how much case management I will be doing. Also, if we have decided that the individual needs to go out of state for treatment, I always like to take the individual being intervened on to the treatment center because on that trip is often where I figure out the most information to give to the treatment center to better help them and to ensure that the individual follows through with going to treatment.
Individuals or their families contact me to help them get themselves, a friend, or family member to a treatment center, sober living, or wilderness therapy, whether that is across town or across the country
I am comfortable driving to or flying with people to make sure that there are no hiccups along the way or that they do not back out of treatment before they get to a treatment center.
People also reach out to me help them get from their treatment situation either back home or to a sober living environment, again if that is in Colorado or anywhere else across the country.
I have contracted with some of the larger sober transportation companies in the past, but I much prefer to do it one-on-one with an individual because I feel like my prices are much cheaper than theirs, and I provide the same expertise and experience as someone that you would be setup with through them.
After a brief assessment over the phone, I am able to do this with almost all males, females, or non-identifying gender identity clients of any age, and depending on certain mental health issues or traumas.
Many people struggling with addiction or alcoholism are not able to go into an inpatient treatment situation for any number of reasons: they are not able to take time off from work, a busy life schedule, family situations, or celebrity status. If any of these situations are true for you, a good option may be to opt for a sober companion to help the individual deal with the daily stresses that cause people to fall back into bad habits or self-destructive behaviors.
A sober companion can also be helpful to someone getting out of an inpatient treatment facility to help them slowly get back into the flow of everyday life again. It can be a struggle for some people to get back into a healthy routine where they are waking up at a reasonable time, deciding which meetings they want to attend (whether they enjoy 12-step meetings, another type of support group, or something like Phoenix MultiSport), communicating with friends and family in a healthy way, eating right, looking for employment or going to their job if they already have a career, going to school, getting in touch with their own spiritual or religious connection, and getting exercise.I will help the individual with these aspects of their life, and help them decide what activities are best for their own recovery.
Lastly, a sober companion can useful for someone that needs to go home or to a different location for a few days for a court date, wedding, funeral, family activity, etc.
For a daily, non-overnight situation I can help in the Denver-metro area, as well as Boulder, CO. If an overnight or spending the night situation is needed I can travel to your location anywhere in the United States, as well as, certain places across the world. These situations can last a few days, or months long, with an on-going communication following; every person is different and it is about what is best for them. If you or a loved one needs someone to live with them or just be with them a certain amount of time per day I would be happy to help.
After a brief phone assessment we can figure out the best plan of action for the individual and family.
If you need someone to speak at your school, office, or conference about overcoming obstacles and achieving your goals please contact me. I can speak about the dangers of drugs and alcohol, but that does not have to be the focus if that is not what you are looking for.
I will show you and the others in the audience how to not use excuses in your life and take control of the outcomes.
You cannot control others and how they perceive things, but you can control how you respond to situations.
Just because you have a past, it doesn’t mean that it is your future.
I am comfortable speaking in front of smaller groups, all the way up to larger conferences in both Colorado and across the country.
